[Baltimore Sun] Maryland weather: Hot, sunny Monday expected between storms in Baltimore area
No rain is expected Monday after a stormy weekend in the Baltimore metro region, but more showers are predicted to start Tuesday afternoon.
The break should be welcome after storms that knocked down trees and again muddied an Artscape weekend. More than 7,000 Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. customers were still without power from outages Monday morning, down by about 10,000 since Sunday night. The utility company said it foresees “the vast majority” of outages to be fixed by 11 a.m. Monday.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 95 degrees in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Tuesday was forecast to begin sunny with a high near 94 and heat index values above 100 degrees before likely showers and possible thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Between a quarter and half an inch of precipitation was expected Tuesday afternoon before up to three-quarters of an inch later in the night.
The rest of the week is anticipated to be wet as well, though temperatures are likely to drop. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s temperatures are forecast to only reach 83 degrees, while Friday should reach 87. But showers are predicted each day through Saturday.
