I was thunderstruck when I read Sherry Fox’s recent letter to the editor, “Count me as a newly energized Harris voter” (Aug. 2)! The letter is filled with such falsehoods and, dare I say, fantasies that it’s hard to believe it was written in all sincerity and with a straight face!
President Joe Biden did not “step aside.” He was ousted because of his poor debate performance and cognitive decline, even though we had all been assured he was fine. (I pitied him during that debate and wondered how anyone could have subjected him to it). What setbacks did we have during Donald Trump’s years in office? And what “incredible advances” did Biden make after Trump left office?
Is letting 10 million people enter our country illegally really an advance? Yet this “advance” began on day one! Who is paying for all the services, medical care, education, housing and more of those who enter our country illegally? We, the American people, are. And we cannot afford it!
There are so many of our own citizens who are in need of services but cannot get them, yet those who are here illegally can. I also have to ask where the writer has been during these last almost-four years to even suggest that Vice President Kamala Harris is remotely qualified to run this country? I beg her to look at Harris’ past political career and the poor decisions she’s made. What has she accomplished during her vice presidency?
Name one thing! I’ll wait. Actually, I’ll answer the question: She’s done nothing except support Biden’s policies which have categorically weakened our once great nation.
