Six teens were arrested for robberies in Baltimore County this week.

Three victims were walking from the movie theater in Towson, when they were approached by three men, two with guns.

According to charging documents, one of the victim’s mothers was able to track his stolen phone, leading police to the general area of the suspects.

They were observed driving the wrong way on Pennsylvania Avenue in Towson when caught. Police recovered two real guns, a BB gun and a pocketknife.

The robbery, the latest incident of violent crime in recent months near the Towson Center. FOX45 has been reporting on the crime problem for the better part of a year and spoke with Alonzo Allen about the crime.

“People told me this area was a nice area to live in,” said Allen.

Allen wants police to do more about controlling the crime wave.

“Up the amount of police officers that patrol at least. Maybe just have a car in here patrol for a couple of hours,” said Allen.

FOX45 questioned Baltimore County Police about their plan to get the crime in the area under control.

The department responded with the following statement:

“As part of the Summer Crime Plan, the mall and surrounding business community have been identified as areas for focused enforcement efforts and allocation of resources to prevent crimes and apprehend any suspects if a crime occurs, which is what happened on Monday. Our officers’ quick response and exemplary work led to the arrest of five juveniles and one adult. Four of the suspects have been charged as an adult and are currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no-bail status,” the statement said.

“Charges include armed robbery, first-degree assault, theft, and various handgun charges,” the statement continued. “All six suspects are under the age of 21. From January 1, 2024, through July 31, 2024, the Central Towson area (including the mall) has seen an increase of one robbery year to date. Although recruitment and retention remain a priority of the Department, post cars are staffed adequately. We also have additional resources that are deployed in and around the area. When incidents occur, our officers respond in a timely manner, identify and apprehend suspects, and hold them accountable.”
