[Baltimore Sun] Latest MCB project may not be waterfront but sure sounds fishy | READER COMMENTARY

Read Time:42 Second

I can’t believe Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott. When he can’t find enough money to update city schools and maybe solve some of the city’s transportation problems, he wants to spend $16 million for new office space for his administration (“Mayor Scott proposes city chip in $16M for new West Baltimore office building,” Aug. 6).

Sounds a little fishy that the same folks slated to “redevelop Harborplace in the Inner Harbor,” MCB Real Estate, will also develop the new site. Wonder where the rest of the $100 million makeover is coming from?

The mayor needs to get his priorities straight and try and solve existing problems before spending money on “nice-to-haves” for his administration.
